Namibia has seen a reduction in the number of new COVID-19 infections and hospitalizations. With this development showing signs of progress in suppressing the transmission of COVID-19 across the country, President Hage Geingob, briefing the nation at the 32nd COVID-19 public briefing eased some of the regulations which came into effect from midnight on the 31st July 2021 until midnight, Saturday 14 August 2021.
- Travel restrictions have been lifted between regions, without a permit, countrywide. The public is however urged to strengthen public health measures at personal and community levels.
- All arriving travellers now need a 72Hr valid negative Covid-19 PCR test, instead of previously 7 days.
- All restaurants and take-away establishments can now operate, despite opening up eating places, those participating in taking on-sight meals must still maintain a healthy distance of 1.5m..
