Foreign nationals in Tanzania (work permit holders) and their respective employees have until the 4th of November to verify their residence status. This is applicable to all foreign nationals in Tanzania who have obtained a residence permit.

Tanzanian Ministry of Home Affairs will be conducting audits

The Immigration Service Department, Tanzanian Ministry of Home Affairs will be conducting audits as a precautionary measure to prevent employers from employing expats without following the correct documentation as per the immigration law.

What Employers should provide their foreign employees before 04 November 2017:

Employers should provide their foreign employees with a “confirmation of employment” letter, this can be downloaded online from the Permit Information Verification System. Submission of this letter must be done at the nearest Immigration office and should be before the deadline date, 4 November 2017.

Collection of the completed verification of residence can then be collected within one working day unless otherwise stated by government officials at Immigration.
